About Sara:
Sara is a general surgery resident and surgeon-scientist in training at Massachusetts General Hospital focused on advancing equity, access, and outcomes in surgical care. Leveraging large-scale datasets and advanced causal inference methods, her research examines how structural forces, including neighborhood context, hospital markets, and health systems, shape access to life-saving surgical and medical care. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, including Annals of Surgery, JAMA Surgery, and JACC, and regularly presents her work at national meetings. She was named to the 2026 Forbes 30 Under 30. Sara is committed to advancing patient-centered, data-driven innovation in surgical practice and policy, with a focus on building more equitable and accessible healthcare systems and improving surgical outcomes for patients.
